RIDERS SIGN FOUR

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed international defensive back Valentino Blake, international running back Taye Davis, international defensive lineman B.J. McBryde and international wide receiver Doug McNeil to the roster.


Blake (5’10 – 200) has signed with the Riders after spending five seasons in the NFL. The University of Texas–El Paso product originally signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in May of 2012. Blake was claimed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in September of 2013 and remained with the team for three seasons. He went on to spend time with the Tennessee Titans in 2016 and the New York Giants in 2017.

In 78 career NFL games, Blake collected 183 defensive tackles, 23 pass deflections and three interceptions – one of which he returned 70-yards for a touchdown.


Davis (6’2 – 240) joins the Riders after spending the previous three seasons at Bethel University. The 22-year-old had 365 carries for 2,208 yards and 31 touchdowns in 31 career collegiate games with the Wildcats.


McBryde (6’5 – 292) signs with the Green and White after spending two seasons in the NFL. The 27-year-old Connecticut product was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles in May, 2015. He went on to join the Green Bay Packers in November, 2015 before signing with the San Francisco 49ers in July, 2016.


McNeil (6’2 – 190) signs with the Riders after playing last season in the Arena Football League. Previously, the 30-year-old Bowie State product spent three seasons in the NFL, spending time with the Denver Broncos through 2014 and the Seattle Seahawks through 2015-16.
