RIDERS SIGN WR JEFF FULLER, RELEASE KENDIAL LAWRENCE

REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Jeff Fuller on Saturday and released fellow receiver Kendial Lawrence.

The six-foot-four 223-pound Fuller played parts of three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders before signing with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks at the end of the 2015 CFL season.

Fuller, 26, has 91 catches for 1,251 yards and eight touchdowns in 25 regular-season CFL games.

“Jeff brings a valued combination of size and speed that will complement our receiver group,” Riders general manager and head coach Chris Jones said in a release. “His ability to play inside or out not only provides us depth but can allow us to be flexible and unpredictable in how we line up.”

Fuller also spent time with the Houston Texans in 2013 and Miami Dolphins in 2012.

Holley and Fuller next year will be a heck of a duo. Have a feeling this will push Roosevelt out, but if Roosevelt resigns that’ll be one hell of trio.

Things are looking up in Riderville!

And don't forget Armanti Edwards and Ricky Collins. If the Riders can improve the National depth, or just not be ravaged by injuries, this could be a pretty good team come 2017.

Yep. We've only won 3 games this season. We were caught cheating and they cut our favorite players right before Christmas…nice guy

I think we need some O-linemen more than we need another receiver. Kendial Lawrence never was a fit.

Just a ridiculous comment. Jones painfully removed all of the over paid players. IE Dressler, Chick, Getzlaf. With the highest paid Oline players on the injury list. How can you possibly think the Riders are over the Cap. Just a dumb unsubstantiated troll comment. Taking Kendals salary and giving it to fuller. The Riders are just fine

This is a great move to obtain a veteran receiver like West. Getting some great ex CFL talent from the NFL cuts. Kendial unfortunately, didnt live up to expectations.

Great signing. Now hopefully he fits into Jones system better than Kendal Lawrence did.

Its about time Kendial Lawrence was let go.
Never should have been on the team to begin with but was one of Jones favourites from the esks. If you are a esk Jones will sign you no matter how bad you are.

As a veteran Kendial Lawrence should have been released before mid-season. Now I think they'll have to pay him for the whole year. If Jones had asked me, I would have advised cutting Lawrence about game three. Alas, he never asks.

Roosevelt, Fuller, Holley, Edwards, Collins Jr., yea I think we are loaded at receiver with Canadian vets like Bagg and Chambers shoring things up. Next stop – signing Durant to a new long-term contract. It going to be fantastic in the new stadium!

Why is everyone so excited about this guy??? Averages 50 yards per game and is hurt often. Dime a dozen. We need o-linemen, or an o-line coach.

3rd and 1, you are 100% correct but you have to remember all of the trolls on here are not Rider fans and you have to also remember, they are likely drooling chewing tobacco on their keyboard

I couldn't agree more.
I'm sick and tired of watching the ninth best 0-line in the league.

Who cares about the cap honestly. For decades the riders were the have nots financially. Now we are the kings. So spend away and win some games.

One: I don’t think Lawrence has been in the league long enough to have his salary guaranteed. Two: Why does everyone assume that Fuller is getting paid big $’s this year. His salary would be pro-rated for only the last 5 games, no? Maybe he got a signing bonus and a payday next year and the year after that (don’t know how long he signed for) 3: Riders have Labatte and Best who are likely getting 150k+ each, and are on the 6 game injured list so their salaries don’t count against the cap, and their replacements are making a… Read more »
