RIDERS-TICATS TRADE

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired international defensive lineman Brandon Boudreaux, along with a fourth-round selection in the 2015 CFL Draft and a fourth-round selection in the 2016 CFL Draft from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

In 30 games over the last three seasons with the Tiger-Cats, Boudreaux recorded 62 defensive tackles and 12 quarterbacks. The 25-year-old led the Ti-Cats defence in quarterback sacks last season with seven on his way to being named an East Division All-Star.

In exchange, the Riders have sent a third-round selection in the 2015 CFL Draft, a third-round selection in the 2016 CFL Draft and a negotiation list player to Hamilton.

Sounds like depth here as well.. Corey was probably familiar with him when he was DC with the Ti Cars

Hate hearing about neg list players being traded but not knowing who they are. I understand GM’s don’t like the neg list made public because then they are held accountable to the players they trade off that list as well as the players they add and remove, but it makes it more interesting for the fans.

Defense is clicking pretty good, this guy will be an asset in playoff time I'm sure. Hopefully the oline is good for depth as well. Get Getzlaf on track and we are on our way. Tino is showing some really good progress hope that continues. We should have some injured players starting to return soon as well. I'm feeling better about our team as the weeks go by. Even the Hamilton game didn't worry me too much as every year there is a dud of a game. I have to laugh at the comments about Chick not doing so good… Read more »

I think the best part of this move is that Boudreaux is only 25. Given the fact that George, Foley and Chick are getting up there in age, having a young, productive D lineman is good for the team's future. Working and learning from these Rider vets can only make him better!

Wonder if Hilee Taylor's penalties caught up with him? Sounds like a good acquisition who can also sack QB's. Chick,Foley,George and now Boudreaux. Should be an outstanding D-Line.

Anyone out there know where free agent d-end Alex Hall is? Also Chris Williams. There were both cut recently in the NFL. Are they headed north?

My guess this was a move initiated by Hamilton who desperately wanted a guy on our neg list. So Taman says "Well, maybe that Boudreaux feller of yours might work…".
