Ok as much as this does seem a bit weird. I'm still curious as to how this plays out. Anon #1 please calm down…

Not sure its so weird. Phoenix area has a large population of Saskatchewan snow birds. Having a Riderville down there allowing fans the opportunity to connect with the team in the middle of winter is a good thing. Also gives the franchise size in that an NHL team is willing to partner with them.
Do i think the rink will be filled and 10,000 people show up? not a chance. If 300 people are there it is still a success. In time everything grows.

Might as well go watch a Getzlaf play. It's not like you can watch an NHL team from Regina. But no problem, Rod likes watching the Pats better anyway.
Rod. I think you should have a sponsor for your comments section. Call it "The Cespool" brought to you by Culligan or Ducks Unlimited or something like that.

Rod, you have to delete those competitor posts on here. My young kids read this blog religiously.

What does Riderville have to do with going to an NHL game in Arizona. Is this to encourage the people going to wear their Rider jerseys to the game so that they can look like complete idiots wearing a CFL jersey to an NHL game.
Maybe you need to discipline your kids. Do you want them reading Obama's crap!!!

I was at a Coyotes game in 2010 a couple days after the ice cold West Final in Calgary. Riders gear everywhere at the rink. I love that.
And I also love how much people hate something as meaningless as wearing football apparel at a non-football game.
Mark me down. I'm in for Riderville, AZ!

Sure Rod makes perfect sense to go watch a hockey game in Arizona on a night where they are selling tickets 2 for 1 just to fill the place a bit and claim it is better than going to the loudest rink in the NHL because of some perceived rivalry based on another sport…

Driving by the Shell gas station today I noticed that gas is now at 79 cents. I never thought in my life time I would ever see it at this price again. I thought over $2 a liter was more likely. The collapse of the price of oil so fast is astonishing and will have many repercussions. As will the lower Canadian Dollar, expected to drop another 5 cents in the months ahead. Consider the implication for Canadian NHL teams and for the CFL players with homes in the US. But also consider the combination of lower gas prices with… Read more »
People living south of the border couldn't give a rat's azz who the riders are or the cfl for that matter. Most wouldn't know what the hell a rider from Canada is or whats a cfl. Why should they? and why would they?
The more I think about it the more I like it. Why not round up some Rider fans to go warm up in AZ. … But this would have been even cooler to hold during Superbowl week. It would have got a lot of action.

Wrong. I'd rather watch the Pats than the Winnnipeg Jets.
F you Rod Pedersen! How about you go to Arizona and stay there! It's time you left Regina for good!
Tourism " Saskatchewan ", Arizona ????
Yeah Rod, stay out of Regina!
(Just kidding, I just wanted to sound like a jealous loser like the F you guy)
I'm constantly amazed at the number of people who will log on to this blog just to take potshots at Roddy…
BradK

Don't compare Winnipeg to Phoenix. It has nothing to do with the CFL. Ask Shane Doan.
