ROCK CREEK UNVEILS “COUGAR BURGER” BENEFITTING COUGAR ATHLETICS

REGINA, SK – Rock Creek Tap & Grill today announced the introduction of the COUGAR BURGER, a crowd-pleasing beef burger brushed with sweetened chipotle beer sauce and topped with cheese, maple bacon, lettuce and tomato.

As part of their 2016/2017 corporate sponsorship of the University of Regina Cougars and RAMS teams,

Rock Creek is giving $1.00 from every Cougar Burger sold in their Quance St and Normanview locations to the teams to offset costs associated with equipment, uniforms, coaching and travel. The promotion will run from November 2016 to May 2017.

“Coming onboard to support the Cougar teams has long been a goal of mine,” says Stu Rathwell, owner and franchisor of the Rock Creek franchise. “As a university student I played on the Cougar hockey team. Those days were some of the best of my life but I also know how athletes struggle to pay for training and competing. I’m proud as a business owner to be able to give back.”

Dave Taylor, head coach of the U of R women’s basketball team agrees that funding is an important component of competing at a top level. “To compete at an elite level, we are reliant on community support for our program. Support from businesses like Rock Creek helps us in areas like the assistant coaches and non-conference travel. Our present success is based on this type of support.”
