REGINA (CP) –  Dillon Dube and Cole Linaker had a goal and an assist each as Kelowna edged the Pats 4-3 Friday in the Brandt Centre.

Justin Kirkland and Cal Foote also chipped in for the Rockets (23-6-1), who won their fourth in a row.

Taylor Cooper, Adam Berg and Connor Hobbs provided the offence for Regina (14-13-3), who’s dropped back-to-back home games after going 4-3-2 on their nine game rodeo trip.  Cooper’s goal at 10:02 of the first period signalled the Pats’ annual Teddy Bear Toss promotion where fans littered the ice with plush toys for sick and under-privileged local children.

NOTES:  The Pats outshot the defending WHL champs 35-18 … Jackson Whistle got the win in goal for Kelowna while Tyler Brown and Jordan Hollett split netminding duties for Regina … Each team was 1/3 on the powerplay … The attendance was 4511.

The Pats host Lethbridge Saturday at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.

I think he means we are still a marginal team. Kelowna rode the bus 14 hours, have four world class players away, have an all rookie d-corps, and we still can't beat them. A number of team in the dub are just as young as us but are better. We have been under .500 since the trades last deadline. We can only wish we had an organization like Kelowna. Time for some hard questions to be answered regarding this teams overall direction. Mediocre at best and they need to shake things up.

Some of the Scrooges are out early :)) Just getting into the 2nd year of a rebuild under new ownership Team and some people want miracles and a Memorial Cup appearance….sheesh! Take a pill. I'll take mediocre this year and a couple of close & exciting 1 goal losses to 2 of the best Teams in the Dub anyday. Overall this year we have faired pretty well against the top teams to my recollection.Superior goaltending did us in last night…better effort than Wednesday though so the kids listened to the coaches. Missing our 2nd pairing of defensemen (Sergey and Hilsy)… Read more »

How do you do that? You have to give up some vets (and they were very good players) and concentrate on going younger for awhile. This ownership group can't be held accountable for errors of the past Parker regime but hopefully some of Parker's Bantam draftees are gems that will help the new ownership out. So far I like the talent for… Read more »
