RUSH BRINGING BACK CORNWALL FOR TWO MORE YEARS!

The Saskatchewan Rush are pleased to announce the signing of defender Jeff Cornwall to a new two-year deal.
“Jeff brings speed, skill and physicality, and I’m sure all Rush fans remember him bringing the roof off SaskTel Centre with the winning goal on a breakaway with 12 seconds to play in the 2016 championship final.
Cornwall became an instant icon in Rush Nation when he scored the game- and series-clinching goal on a breakaway with 12 seconds left in regulation time in Game 2 of the 2016 Champion’s Cup Final against Buffalo, giving the Rush their second of back-to-back league titles. A round earlier Cornwall scored a critical goal as the Rush dodged past the arch-rival Calgary Roughnecks in the West Final.
The Coquitlam, British Columbia, product was acquired by the Rush early in the 2012 season for a pair of second-round draft picks after being selected by Buffalo 15th overall in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft. He has since gone on to post 30 goals and 50 assists for 80 points in 128 regular-season games along with 499 loose ball scoops. Cornwall set career-highs for goals (10), assists (16) and points (26) in the 2017 campaign. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder has also racked up 120 caused turnovers, including finishing fifth in the league with 29 in 2014. In 24 playoff games, Cornwall has collected 16 points, 86 loose balls and 21 caused turnovers.
