RUSH SIGN FIRST ROUND PICK MADRONIC

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatchewan Rush are thrilled to announce the signing of 2022 top draft pick, Austin Madronic, to a 2-year contract.

“We think Austin Madronic fills an immediate need on our offense,” states general manager Derek Keenan. “He’s a right shot with, skill, athleticism and a lot of grit. He’s a player who is capable of playing equally as well with or without the ball!”

The Rush acquired Madronic 6th overall in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. The Victoria, BC product spent his last four seasons with Harvard University where he notched 41 points and lead his team in goals (30G) in only 13 games. Before heading south, Madronic laced up with the Victoria Jr. A Shamrocks, scoring 20 goals and 27 assists in his 2019 season. The 1999-born right shot had 14 multi-goal games, 28 multi-point games and played in one Minto Cup final in his junior career.

The Saskatchewan Rush are excited to welcome Austin to the organization and look forward to having him continue to develop under Jimmy Quinlan’s coaching staff.
