RUSH TO HOST CHRISTMAS SHOWDOWN

Christmas is coming early to Saskatchewan this winter, as the two-time defending National Lacrosse League Champion, Saskatchewan Rush, will play host to their 2016 Western Final opponent from last year, the Calgary Roughnecks, in a Holiday Themed Showdown on Friday, December 16th 2016 at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.

In the spirit of Christmas, The Rush and Saskatoon Co-op have partnered with The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre for this game as a major fundraiser for their needs this holiday season.  The Saskatchewan Rush will auction off the game worn limited edition holiday jerseys from this game, with proceeds going to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.  Other fundraising details will be announced as the date draws closer.

As a special holiday bonus to fans, tickets have been discounted, all lower bowl tickets will sell for $35.00, and all upper bowl tickets will go for $25.00.  Season Ticket Holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets for this game beginning today until November 14th.  Tickets for the general public will go on sale on November 15th at 10:00am available to purchase via Ticketmaster and all Co-op Saskatoon Food and Gas Bar locations. A discounted silver ticket limited quantity kids offer will also be unveiled on November 15th.

“We are proud to partner with the Saskatchewan Rush and the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre for this food drive and fundraiser, helping to make this holiday season brighter for Saskatoon families,” said Grant Wicks, Saskatoon Co-op General Manager.

“Ever since the Saskatchewan Rush became our home team here in Saskatoon, they have been great supporters of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.  We’re so excited to partner with them once again, for their holiday exhibition game!  The whole team and the amazing Rush fan base are so supportive and we’re looking forward to teaming up to help ensure that everyone can enjoy the holidays.” – Laurie O’Connor, Executive Director, Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.

Santa himself and his merry elves will also make an appearance at the game alongside our Saskatchewan Rush players in the post game autograph session; giving young fans the opportunity to fill him in on their last minute Christmas wish list.
