SASK LOTTERIES STEPS UP FOR SOCCER DAY IN SASKATCHEWAN
REGINA, SK – On Ice Management Group Inc. is pleased to announce the partners that have made the first International Soccer friendly game at Mosaic Stadium possible.
The presenting sponsor of the July 22 event is Saskatchewan Lotteries. Proceeds from the organization support culture, sport, and recreation activities in the province, and a portion has been dedicated to this first-ever soccer event in Regina.
“We are grateful to Saskatchewan Lotteries for their interest and commitment to our event and the support they provide to the soccer community,” said On Ice President John Graham. “Soccer is very much a community sport, and our organization is proud to bring this first-ever event to Saskatchewan people, thanks to the support of our partners.”

Attending an event of this calibre motivates people to get involved and participate to a level of their choice.”
Other partners include the Government of Saskatchewan, City of Regina, Saskatchewan and Regina Soccer Associations, the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan.
“The Government of Saskatchewan is proud that the City of Regina and our province are hosting Soccer Day in Saskatchewan,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Ken Cheveldayoff said. “The programming and games give everyone the opportunity to celebrate the sport of soccer. Thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and community partners of Soccer Day in Saskatchewan for making this day possible.”
Mayor Michael Fougere welcomes the soccer match to Mosaic Stadium. The multi-purpose facility will see everything from concerts and minor football to CFL football and the upcoming international soccer game.
“We are very excited to have this event taking place in Regina,” said Mayor Michael Fougere. “The focus for Mosaic Stadium has always been as a community-focused, multi-purpose stadium. As we open this facility, Soccer Day in Saskatchewan stands as a great example not only of the many events that can be housed here, but also of the community-focused programming that can augment an event in the stadium.”
Additional event partners include the Regina Hotel Association, Harvard Broadcasting, SaskTel and KidSport. These associate event sponsors will enable On Ice to expand and grow Soccer Day in Saskatchewan across the province.
A leader within the global community, the Red Cross is also an event partner. The organization is always there when the need arises, and will play an important role in the inaugural international soccer match.
“The Red Cross in Saskatchewan thanks On Ice Management for providing us with the opportunity to be involved with this first-class event,” said Cindy Fuchs, Vice President, Canadian Red Cross in Saskatchewan. “Funds raised from the 50-50 will go to disaster preparedness and relief right here in Saskatchewan, but as an organization with a global reach, we are thrilled to have a stake in an international event of this calibre.”
On Ice would also like to acknowledge the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Mark Allan, President and CEO of the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (operator of Evraz Place), and the employees who have worked with Graham and his organization from the beginning in the planning and preparation of this event.
