EDMONTON – Ty Nash had a goal and an assist as the Edmonton Oil Kings topped the Regina Pats 4-2 Friday night at Rogers Place. The Pats had a 2-0 lead after the first and second periods, but the roof caved in in the third.
Marc Lajoie, John Szabo and Skyler Bruce also scored for Edmonton (7-15-1). Oil Kings goaltender Kolby Hay kicked out 27 of 29 shots.
Logan Peskett and Tanner Howe scored for Regina (10-13-2). Pats goaltender Ewan Huet saved 33 of 36 shots.
ELSEWHERE IN THE DUB:
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Three players scored twice as the Prince George Cougars defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-4 on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.
Riley Heidt, Zac Funk and Koehn Ziemmer each had a pair of goals for Prince George (17-6-0).
Cougars netminder Ty Young saved 21 of 25 shots.
Joe Arntsen scored twice while Elias Knoester and Miguel Marques scored once for Lethbridge (13-10-2)
Hurricanes goaltender Harrison Meneghin kicked out 25 of 31 shots.

SEATTLE – Brandon Lisowsky scored a goal as the Saskatoon Blades topped the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Egor Sidorov and Lukas Hansen also scored once for Saskatoon (16-8-0). Blades goaltender Evan Gardner kicked out 18 of 19 shots.
Antonio Martorana scored the lone goal for Seattle (10-9-1). Thunderbirds goaltender Scott Ratzlaff kicked out 19 of 21 shots.

EVERETT, Wash. – Teague Patton scored a hat trick as the Everett Silvertips topped the Portland Winterhawks.
Carter Bear, Ben Hemmerling and Austin Roest also scored for Everett (15-9-1). Silvertips netminder Tyler Palmer stopped 8 of 11 shots and fellow goalie Ethan Chadwick stopped all 20 he faced.
Gabe Klassen, Josh Davies and James Stefan had the goal for Portland (14-6-1). Winterhawks netminder Luke Brunen stopped 37 of 42 shots.

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Josh Filmon scored twice as the Swift Current Broncos defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Luke Mistelbacher, Ryan McCleary, Brady Birnie and Clarke Caswell also scored for Swift Current (12-10-1). Broncos netminder Joey Rocha stopped 41 of 44 shots.

The University de Montreal Carabins and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds play for the Vanier Cup this afternoon in Kingston, Ontario. It’s a rematch of the 2015 Canadian university football championship, which U-B-C won 26-23 in Quebec City. The Thunderbirds are making a seventh appearance overall, having won four times, while Montreal is in the title game for a fourth occasion after winning in 2014.

Canadian Jevon Holland returned an intercepted first-half Hail Mary attempt 99 yards for a touchdown as the Miami Dolphins cruised past the New York Jets 34-13. Raheem Mostert also ran for two touchdowns in the NFL’s first game played on Black Friday. The Dolphins sent the Jets to their fourth straight loss.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
AKRON, Ohio (AP) – Sieh Bangura ran for 121 yards and a touchdown and Ohio beat Akron 25-14 on Friday in a Mid-American Conference regular-season finale.
Akron (2-10, 1-7) built a 14-3 halftime lead before Kurtis Rourke scored on a short-yardage touchdown run and then tossed a 1-yard TD pass to Miles Cross that gave Ohio (9-3, 6-2) an 18-14 lead with 2:04 left in the third quarter.
Rourke – the #1 prospect for the 2024 CFL Draft – completed 19 of 30 passes for 208 yards. Cross finished with seven catches for 103 yard receiving.
NBA
O.G. Anunoby scored 26 points and pulled down six rebounds as the Toronto Raptors beat Chicago 121-108 to eliminate the Bulls from the NBA’s in-season tournament. Pascal Siakam added 18 points with a team-best eight assists for Toronto. Zach LaVine had 36 points and former Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan had 19 points for Chicago.
