The Winnipeg Blue Bombers capped their regular season with a win. Justin Medlock kicked four field goals to set a single-season record as Winnipeg topped the Ottawa Redblacks 33-20. Medlock’s fourth field goal of the game gave him 60 on the season, one more than the 59 Dave Ridgway had with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1990.

The Montreal Canadiens finally have their first regulation-time loss of the year. Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves as the Columbus Blue Jackets routed Montreal 10-0. And in Detroit, Brandon Tanev scored twice, including the go-ahead goal late in the third, to lift the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-3 victory over the Red Wings.

DeMar DeRozan joined some elite company while helping the Raptors to their latest win. DeRozan scored 34 points, surpassing 30 for the fifth straight game as Toronto beat the Miami Heat 96-87 to improve to 4-1. According to the Elias Sports, the last player to start a season with at least 30 points in the first five games was Michael Jordan in 1986.

Devin Booker scored 38 points, including a jumper that tied the game as regulation expired and the Phoenix Suns kept New Orleans winless on the season with a 112-111 overtime victory. T-J Warren added 18 points on 4-of-17 shooting for the Suns, while Eric Bledsoe had 17 points and Tyson Chandler had 12 points and 18 rebounds.

Raptors 905 has the only female coach in the NBA Development League with the hiring of Nicki Gross. Gross, who spent last season as an assistant with the Iowa Energy, joins the Toronto Raptors’ D-League affiliate as its player development coach.

Canada’s Milos Raonic will be a determining factor in Andy Murray’s possible rise to Number 1 on the A-T-P rankings. Murray and Raonic both won their quarter-final matches at the Paris Masters today while longtime Number-1 Novak Djokovic lost his. Murray can reach the top spot if he beats Raonic in tomorrow’s semifinal.
