SHA ANNOUNCES COACHES SYMPOSIUM

The Saskatchewan Hockey Association is pleased announce they will be hosting a Saskatchewan Development Model (SDM) Coach Symposium which will feature a distinguished group of presenters – Dave Tippett, Head Coach NHL’s Arizona Coyotes; Willie Desjardins, Head Coach NHL’s Vancouver Canucks; Glen Gulutzan, Assistant Coach NHL’s Vancouver Canucks; and Dave King, Head Coach KHL’s Lokomotiv Yaroslav and 2015 Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee.

The day long symposium will take place on Saturday June 13th at the Ramada Plaza in Regina. Over the course of the day, attendees will participate in four sessions which will include presentations given by each of the professional coaches as well as a hotstove panel session with the collective group to conclude the day.

Each of the distinguished presenters will offer insight and guidance into specific areas of hockey development. The sessions will be as follows:

Dave King – Skills
Dave Tippett – Penalty Kill
Glen Gulutzan – Developing Defensemen
Willie Desjardins – Use of Technology with youth players

The SDM Coach Symposium is being held in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Hockey Association’s Provincial Coach Mentorship Program (PCMP) which was created to assist in the development of minor hockey association coaches across the province. Members of the PCMP will also be in attendance to take part in the symposium as part of their weekend event.

The SDM Coach Symposium on Saturday June 13th will be offered free of charge to SHA coaches in Pee Wee AA, Bantam AA, Midget AA, Midget AAA , Junior B, SJHL and WHL.
