SHEETS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Kory Sheets has been named the CFL Gibson’s Finest Offensive Player of the Week.

Sheets received this award following Saturday’s 35-14 victory over the B.C. Lions. The second-year Rider continued his outstanding season rushing 25 times for 148 yards and one touchdown. It was his league leading ninth 100-yard rushing game of the season, tying a franchise record.

In 14 games this season, the 28-year-old Purdue product leads the CFL with 12 rushing touchdowns and has racked up 1,556 yards on 276 carries.

This is the third time this year that Sheets has been named offensive player of the week.

It is the tenth time this season that a Rider has earned player of the week honours after Chris Getzlaf, Tyron Brackenridge, Darian Durant, Rey Williams (twice), Rob Bagg, Kory Sheets (three) and Jock Sanders have all picked up weekly awards.

Why was Can't Get Right (Kory Sheets) chosen for player of the week when Mr. John Cornish played a outstanding game. Guess the league has to seem Impartial and fair to the other teams when someone such as Cornish Is far and above superior to the rest of his counterparts across the league. Good on the Riders organizationv and the CFL.

I think it's because few people like Cornish, including many of his teammates. Jon likes his mirror though.

Calgary has played Winnipeg and the EE the last 2 games. That probably had something to do with Corndog not getting the nod. SK's running back Flannels played against a much better run defence. Not to mention the BC Lions Defence were playing with an attitude. They were so pissed at their offence for stinking up the joint.

Win or lose, as long as Sheets gets his yards, all is good.

Last Anon has to be a Calgary fan. Sheets has dropped his Mission 2K. I dont think any RB that misses 3 games or 17% of the season due to injury feels they can still get to their goal.
So NO Anon, Sheets could care less about his yardage now and would trade all of this seasons accolades for W's going forward.
