STAMPEDERS 28 LIONS 7

VANCOUVER – Drew Tate threw for two touchdown passes and the Calgary Stampeders defeated the B.C. Lions 28-7 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Stamps and Lions will square off on Sunday Nov. 15 in Calgary for the CFL West semifinal.

With the outcome meaningless in the standings, Calgary (14-4) remains second in the West while the Lions (7-11) enter the playoffs third in the same division.

Tate finished 18 for 22 with 231 passing yards for Calgary after he exited in the fourth. Receiver Lemar Durant caught two TDs for the Stamps.

Lions quarterback Travis Lulay, making his first start since suffering a knee injury in Montreal over two months ago, finished 14 for 20 with 181 passing yards.

It didn’t take long for Lions running back Andrew Harris to reach 1,000 rushing yards on the season, taking the first snap of the game and rushing for a four-yard gain to give him 1,001. He finished the game with 42 yards and 1,039 on the season.
