STAMPEDERS LOCK UP TWO LINEMEN
CALGARY – The Calgary Stampeders signed Canadian offensive linemen Shane Bergman and Spencer Wilson to contract extensions through the 2018 season Tuesday.
“Shane and Spencer have both been important players for us over the past few seasons and I’m pleased that they have chosen to make a commitment to the club by signing contract extensions,” general manager/president John Hufnagel said in a statement. “Under the guidance of position coach Pat DelMonaco, I believe the offensive line will continue to be a position of strength for us.”
Bergman, a 2013 sixth-round pick out of the University of Western Ontario in 2013, is entering his fourth season with the Stamps. The 26-year-old native of Teeterville, Ont., has started 30 games at left guard over the past two years.
Wilson, a former Calgary Colts junior player, is entering his sixth season with Calgary. He has started at four positions on the offensive line and last year saw action at right guard, right tackle and left tackle.
Wilson was Calgary’s nominee for most outstanding lineman and was a CFL all-star.

be thankful Murphy is here. Stamps – 6th rd picks starting and junior players becoming all-stars. Past Riders regime passed on Brett Jones too Watman and he couldn't even start. Taman was just an awful gm. I know the faithful are gong to say he won a Cup, but an analogy is Barry Switzer won a Super Bowl with Jimmy Johnsons players and it was proven over time Switzer was a buffoon as a pro head coach.
