STAMPS SIGN #1 PICK

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of non-import offensive linemen Brander Craighead.

Chosen in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2013 CFL Draft, Craighead spent five years at the University of Texas-El Paso. Lining up primarily at left tackle, he played 12 games in each of his three final seasons, starting all but two of those contests. During his senior year in 2013, he anchored an offensive line that allowed the Miners to finish fourth in the 14-team Conference USA with an average of 184.7 rushing yards per game.

“I’m very pleased with the signing of our number one draft pick from 2013,” says Hufnagel. “Brander has shown great commitment to the Stampeders by agreeing to this contract at this time. He’ll provide good competition and depth to our offensive line when we go to camp in 2014.”

Stampeders season tickets are on sale now for the 2014 season. For more information, visit Stampeders.com or call 403-289-0258 to speak with a customer service representative.

Interesting to see all these signings after the Ottawa draft. We herd there would be some nudge nudge deals. Also interesting the Riders have not let us know any signings…..maybe tomorrow…..one question though could Ottawa have chosen Brander Craighead, in the draft. Do not remember any of the analysts speaking of this.
