The Regina Pats announced today forward Sam Steel will be out long-term due to injury.

Steel was injured during the March 10, 2015 away game against the Prince Albert Raiders.  This was a make-up game from February 14, 2015 that was postponed due to bad weather.  The rookie centre suffered an ankle injury during the second period of the game.
In 61 games, Steel recorded 17 goals and 37 assists, tallying 54 points.

Shouldn't be a big deal … Paddock never planned to win this year anyways. Shut him down for the year and protect the eggs you have placed in the singular basket.

Am I allowed to request that the second poster never post on the internet again?

First the injuries

Paddock and the Pats have put a lot of pressure on Steel by basically designating him as "the franchise" and publically building a team around him

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the Pats were going to build around Steel the day they drafted him…. The Pats finally have assets to build around and have a lot of quality prospects with not enough room for them all to be on the roster. There will be offseason moves to address the few weaknesses this franchise has in the organization. Jake Leschyshyn trade is looking to be a real gem for the Pats, Gay hasn't done nothing for the Rebels since being traded. Both Gay & Leschyshyn both have 2goals & Jake is going to… Read more »

Where in Rod's report did it mention anything about Steel and "Pressure?". Duh, you're the pinhead who brought it up!

For my dollar, Lecyshyn will be "the guy" in a couple years and won't be around for five years. Steel will be a five year junior. Will be very 'Weal' like.

Pinhead?!!! It's an article on Steel, I commented I was surprised how public the Pats have been in building a team around Steel for the 16/17 season, that's got to be a lot of pressure on a 16 year old. You made the incorrect assumption relating the pressure on Steel and an injury, not I. And I will be courteous enough not to resort to name calling..

It says nothing about the Pats putting pressure on Steel in the article. Only an injury report. You read way too much into very little.

Leschyshyn really is looking like he's going to be an amazing all around player in a couple years. For a kid barely 16, winning face-offs the way he does against older players is unreal! Not sure he's going to be a player who is gone at 19 though, but I'm also not one to ever say Steel would be gone at 19 either. I'd bet they both play their 19 year old seasons.

I'll bet you every penny you have in your piggy bank that Steel will NOT be here 5 years!

The real tragedy is that Steele will miss the opportunity to gain important play-off experience for the Pat's future runs for the championships.
