Winnipeg, Man. — The short-staffed Regina Pats were unable to gain any traction as they lost 6-1 to the Winnipeg ICE at the Wayne Fleming Arena in Winnipeg.

The ICE depth showed as six different players scored for the hometown club. The ICE scored the first four goals of the contest before the Pats were able to reply. The ICE then bookended the game with two more markers to seal the win.

The Pats’ four-game winning streak was snapped but they had a good weekend, picking up four of a possible six points.

Aidan Oiring (fifth), Evan Friesen (fourth), Owen Pederson (15th), Vladislav Shilo (sixth), Skyler Bruce (seventh), and Graham Sward (second) scored for the ICE. Daniel Hauser stopped 19 of 20 shots in the win.

Tanner Howe (20th) replied for the Pats. Kelton Pyne blocked 34 of 40 ICE shots.
