Travis Lulay came off the bench to throw three T-D passes and 436 yards as the Lions defeated the winless Tiger-Cats 41-26 in Hamilton. B-C starter Jonathon Jennings injured his throwing arm on the Lions’ first play from scrimmage – in which he threw an interception while under pressure – and was replaced for the rest of the game by Lulay.

The Tigers got to Francisco Liriano early and oftern in Detroit. Liriano took the loss, allowing five runs, three hits and four walks in two-plus innings before coming out with neck tightness as the Tigers pounded Toronto 11-1. Michael Fulmer pitched eight strong innings and J-D Martinez had a home run along with five runs.

Cody Bellinger became the first rookie in Dodgers history to hit for the cycle when he tripled in the seventh inning in a 7-1 win against the Marlins. Bellinger singled in the first inning, hit a two-run homer in the third and added an R-B-I double in the fourth. He’s the first Dodger to hit for the cycle since Orlando Hudson on April 13th, 2009.

Simon Pagenaud took the pole for the IndyCar race Sunday at Exhibition Place in Toronto. Pagenaud had a track-record lap of 58-point-9-1-2-4 seconds on the 1-point-7-8-6-mile street course. Hometown favourite James Hinchcliffe qualified sixth.

Garbine Muguruza has claimed her second Grand Slam title in what amounts to a Williams sweep. The 14th-seeded Muguruza is the Wimbledon women’s champion following a convincing victory over Venus Williams. The victory comes 13 months after Muguruza knocked off Serena Williams to capture the French Open.

Olympic gold medallist Rosie MacLennan doesn’t even have to be at the top of her game to win national titles. MacLennan successfully defended her senior women’s trampoline title at the 2017 Canadian Championships. The Toronto native hadn’t competed since winning gold at the Rio Olympic Games, but put down a safe routine to take her sixth senior title.
