Leon Draisaitl scored in overtime as the Oilers vaulted into a tie for first place in the Pacific Division with Anaheim with a 3-2 victory over the Ducks. The winner came 1:26 into overtime as Connor McDavid fed it to Draisiatl on a 2-one-1. Edmonton and Anaheim each have 97 points, with four games remaining for each club. The Oilers currently hold the tiebreaker.

Auston Matthews continues to shine in his rookie season. Matthews scored his 37th and 38th goals of the season to lead the Maple Leafs in a 5-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings. The win pulls Toronto into a tie with Ottawa for second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams have 91 points with five games remaining in their regular seasons.

The Ottawa Senators are stumbling at the wrong time. They lost their fourth straight tonight, 4-2 to the Jets in Winnipeg. And in Tampa Bay, Alexander Radulov scored 51 seconds into overtime to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 2-1 victory over the Lightning. Carey Price stopped 21 shots for the Atlantic Division-leading Canadiens.

Damian Lillard scored 31 points and the Portland Trail Blazers continued their late-season push for the playoffs with a sixth straight victory, beating the Phoenix Suns 130-117. C-J McCollum added 29 points for Portland, which holds the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Blazers got back to .500 for the first time since they were 12-12 on December 9th.

North Carolina is one game away from its sixth college basketball national championship after surviving a late rally in the final seconds against Oregon. Kennedy Meeks matched his career high with 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as North Carolina won 77-76. Earlier, Gonzaga’s big men combined for 27 points and the Bulldogs beat South Carolina 77-73.

Canada’s Brad Gushue began his quest for a world title on the right track. The St. John’s, Newfoundland skip topped Switzerland’s Peter de Cruz 7-5 in the first draw of the world men’s curling championship. This is the first appearance at this event for Gushue’s team.
