Columbus pummeled Mike Smith with a franchise-record 60 shots, Alexander Wennberg scored with 2:16 left in the third period and the Blue Jackets beat the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 in a shootout Saturday night.
Smith set a franchise record with 58 saves, but the Coyotes still lost their third straight.
Cam Atkinson and Sam Gagner scored on Smith in the shootout while Curtis McElhinney stopped both Arizona shooters. Boone Jenner also scored for Columbus, which has won three straight.
Shane Doan got his 399th career goal and Radim Vrbata also scored for Arizona, which was playing its eighth overtime game in 23 contests.

Markus Granlund and Bo Horvat scored in the shootout as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2. Daniel Sedin and Sven Baertschi scored in regulation for Vancouver while Ryan Miller made 38 saves.

Mike Condon made 24 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Florida Panthers 2-0. Erik Karlsson and Derick Brassard scored for Ottawa, which snapped a two-game losing skid. The Panthers have dropped three of their last four.

Patrik Laine set up Bryan Little for an overtime goal and also got his 16th score of the season, helping the Winnipeg Jets beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2. Winnipeg ended a six-game road losing streak with the victory. Laine also tied Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby for the NHL goals lead.

DeMar DeRozan had 21 points and seven other Raptors scored in double digits, as Toronto roared to a 128-84 rout of the Atlanta Hawks. The victory stretched the Raptors’ win streak to six games, propelling them to the top of the Eastern Conference standings in a tie with Cleveland.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman says he will be pitching for the United States at next year’s World Baseball Classic. The Medford, New York, native tweeted the announcement from his verified account today. Stroman went 9-and-10 with a 4.37 earned-run average through 32 starts for the Blue Jays in 2016.

Canadian bobsled star Kaillie Humphries added another gold medal to her resume, finishing first in the season-opening World Cup on the track she won her first Olympic gold six years ago. Humphries, of Calgary, and brakeman Cynthia Appiah of Toronto had a two-run time of one minute 46.53 seconds in Whistler, B-C.
