The Flames’ fifth win in a row moves them into first place in a tight Pacific Division, one point up on both Arizona and Vegas. The Oilers remain two points back. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had a pair of goals and Connor McDavid also scored for Edmonton, which lost in regulation for the first time in six games.

Ilya Kovalchuk’s winner in overtime helped the Canadiens snap an eight-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Senators in Ottawa. Montreal’s Carey Price made 41 saves to get his team out of a rut. Meanwhile, the Senators have now lost seven straight.

The Canucks are back in the win column. Brock Boeser (BESS’-uhr) and Jake Virtanen scored 1:24 apart in the third period as the Canucks downed the Sabres 6-3 in Buffalo. Boeser had two goals and Jacob Markstrom stopped 25 shots to improve to 7-and-1 in his past eight games.

Derrick Henry gained 195 yards rushing and threw a three-yard touchdown pass as the Tennessee Titans beat the Baltimore Ravens 28-12 in the AFC divisional round. Baltimore had won its last 12 games, with quarterback Lamar Jackson setting records and looking unstoppable. Tennessee will now face the winner between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs.

The top-seeded San Francisco 49ers will host next week’s NFC championship game. Jimmy Garoppolo threw a T-D pass on his opening drive as a playoff starter, and the 49ers beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 to advance. They’ll face the winner between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. That game goes Sunday.

A milestone night for James Harden. Harden scored 32 points in three quarters to surpass 20,000 for his career, and the Houston Rockets rolled to an easy 139-109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Harden is the 45th player in NBA history to reach 20,000 points and the seventh-youngest.
