Panik’s tiebreaking three-run shot off Jose Urquidy gave Toronto a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning. Guerrero connected in the fifth, sending a two-run drive deep to left for his 18th homer of the season.

James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets left 43 seconds into Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals with a right hamstring injury. Harden appeared to grab at the hamstring on a drive to the basket on Brooklyn’s first possession against the Milwaukee Bucks. The injury potentially deals a huge blow to Brooklyn’s championship hopes.

Canadian Mike Weir is six strokes behind leader Tim Herron after two rounds at the PGA Tour Champions’ Principal Charity Classic. Weir, from Brights Grove, Ontario, started the round in 19th position but shot a 66 to jump into fifth. Calgary’s Stephen Ames shot a 69 for a 7-under 137 total.

Jon Rahm has been knocked out of the PGA’s Memorial after testing positive for COVID-19. That means his commanding performance that included a hole-in-one Saturday morning to complete his second round went to waste. Rahm had tied the 54-hole record at the Memorial and was on the cusp of joining Tiger Woods as the only repeat winners.

The Canadian Premier League kicks off its season June 26th with a month’s worth of games all played in Winnipeg. The Manitoba capital will host the first 32 games of the campaign until July 24th. The league is committed to teams playing a full 28-match season and hopes to return to home markets after Winnipeg.
