The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks have worked themselves into next weekend’s NFL conference championships.
LeGarrette Blount had four of the Patriots’ six rushing touchdowns in a 43-22 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts. Blount scored the Pats’ first three TDs on three-yard runs before ripping off a 73-yard scoring burst with 12:55 remaining, less than two minutes before Stevan Ridley scored his second TD of the night. Blount accounted for 166 of the Patriots’ 234 rushing yards.

In Seattle, Marshawn Lynch ran for 140 yards on 28 carries and provided the Seahawks’ two touchdowns in a 23-15 triumph over New Orleans. Lynch scored on a 15-yard run 43 seconds into the second quarter to put Seattle ahead 13-0. He also had a 31-yard touchdown run with 2:40 remaining to all but clinch the Seahawks’ third trip to a conference title game, and their second since rejoining the NFC.
Lynch carried a Seattle offence that had only 277 total yards and attempted just 18 passes under blustery conditions. Russell Wilson completed nine of his passes for a career-low 103 yards and no interceptions.

Drew Brees was 24 of 43 for 309 yards and one touchdown, a nine-yard scoring pass to Marques Colston with 26 seconds left. Colston also recovered the onside kick to give New Orleans a chance to send the game into overtime. Seattle will take on the winner of Sunday’s game between the Carolina Panthers and visiting San Francisco 49ers.

Blades get bombed again last night and Molleken said that they are in the rebuilding stage . I have lived in Saskatoon since 1966 and the Blades have been rebuilding since I moved here with nothing to show. The new owner has not done a revamp of any kind as I see it. This is a sorry franchise for a city the size of Saskatoon.
Tough to win in Seattle with that crowd and in New England with the refs fully behind the Pats.
Pretty quiet from the naysayers out in the blogosphere. The Pats are a pretty good team and only need to play the same style of hockey that they played for 52 mins against the Hitmen to be successful. If they do, and get average to good goaltending they will be more than successful.
Good luck Pats and continued strong efforts!
PBB
Yes I agree PBB – those "negative neds" always find holes to hide in when the Boys in Blue do well. Never give credit when credit due but always the first to the blog when they lose. Shame on them.

Let me know when they do well. Last time I remember was a team with Brian Skrudland and they were great until 2 Sutters did them in…..So, when are fans supposed to have been behind them?
how about being behind them 100% of the time since after all they are just kids to start with……
I can go watch atom or pee wee hockey if I want to give unconditional support. When an owner gets to sit back, do absolutely nothing for 30 years and never turn a profit of less than 500 grand with a sub par product, I can be behind them/or not behind them whenever I want. This idea of unconditional support didn't do much for the improvement of our Riders for the better part of 100 years, and showing up no matter what hasn't helped the Blades either. You charge me to get in, you're giving me the right to decide.… Read more »
