It’s the game every soccer player dreams of competing in. The World Cup final plays out today at the famed Maracana in Rio de Janeiro between Germany and Argentina. Germany last won the title in 1990 — Argentina in 1986. Game time is 1:00 pm Sask time.

One more game for the Toronto Blue Jays before the all-star break. They send R-A Dickey to the mound in the finale of a series against Tampa Bay. The Rays will counter with ace David Price. Toronto is 2-7 so far on their 10-game roadtrip, but still only three games back of Baltimore for the AL East lead.

The NL Central lead is up for grabs before the all-star break. The Milwaukee Brewers host the St. Louis Cardinals with both teams tied atop the division. The Brewers lost their seventh in a row yesterday. They’re also grieving for shortstop Jean Segura, who left the team after his nine-month-old son died Friday.
—
The Detroit Tigers go for their fifth straight win against rival Kansas City. The Royals are seven-and-a-half games behind the Tigers in the AL Central. Elsewhere, Baltimore plays the New York Yankees, Seattle is home to Oakland, Pittsburgh plays Cincinnati and San Diego takes on the LA Dodgers.
—
Brian Harman has a one-stroke lead heading into the final round at the John Deere Classic. He took the lead yesterday with a pair of eagles. Three-time winner Steve Stricker is second, while Scott Brown is two shots off the pace.

The Tour de France is only getting tougher on the peloton. The ninth stage is a 170-kilometre ride over six ascents in the mountains. Italy’s Vincenzo Nibali remains the overall leader with a one minute-and-44 second advantage, although two-time champion Alberto Contador is making up ground.

Its so amazing that outside North America a game without any scoring for months can be so popular. I can only watch 3 minutes of any soccer (football) without changing the channel. BORING
not mention baseball yawn.
