Getzlaf’s pass struck Lance Bouma’s skate where it improbably redirected through the air and past goalie Brian Elliott to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead in their first-round series.

The Toronto Maple Leafs won a lengthy Game 2 to even their series with Washington at a game apiece. Kasperi Kapanen scored the winner in the second overtime period as Toronto topped the Caps 4-3. Earlier, Dion Phaneuf scored in overtime as Ottawa beat the Bruins 4-3 to tie their series at 1-1.

Pekka Rinne and the Nashville Predators have a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference quarter-final against the Blackhawks. Rinne made 30 saves in his second straight shutout and picked up two assists, helping the Predators pound Chicago 5-0 in Game 2. Nashville will host the next two games of the series.

Another Game 1 loss for the Toronto Raptors. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 28 points as the visiting Milwaukee Bucks downed Toronto 97-83 for a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series. The Raptors have never won a Game 1 in the first round.

The Toronto Blue Jays have Kendrys Morales to thank for a much-needed victory. Morales hit a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth to lift Toronto to a 2-1 walkoff win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays are now 2-and-9 after their worst 10-game start in franchise history.

Justin Meram and Ola Kamara scored, and Zack Steffen made four saves to help the Columbus Crew beat Toronto 2-1, handing TFC its first loss of the season. Earlier, substitute Anthony Jackson-Hamel scored in second-half stoppage time as the Montreal Impact defeated Atlanta 2-1 for their first win of the season.
