The Toronto Maple Leafs won at home for the first time in five games. Jake Gardiner scored two minutes into overtime to lift the Leafs to a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The win snapped a three-game overall losing skid and a four-game slide at Air Canada Centre.

There was no need to pull Carey Price tonight. The Canadiens goaltender stopped 20-of-21 shots to help Montreal beat the Washington Capitals 2-1, one night after he was pulled in the second period of a 4-2 loss to San Jose. And the Ottawa Senators got a go-ahead goal from Derick Brassard in the second period en route to a 3-1 win over New Jersey.

Russell Westbrook had a career-high 22 assists in his 50th triple-double, helping the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Phoenix Suns 114-101. That ended a two-game losing streak. Westbrook also had 26 points and 11 rebounds for his 13th triple-double of the season. Steven Adams had 19 points and seven rebounds for O-K-C.

LeBron James scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter and Kyrie Irving matched a career high with 12 assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Lakers 119-108. Kevin Love had 27 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. Also, Paul George scored 26 points as the Indiana Pacers beat the Detroit Pistons 105-90.

Matt Moore’s first game as Ryan Tannehill’s replacement was the best of his career. The nine-year veteran threw for four touchdowns to keep the Miami Dolphins’ playoff hopes alive with a 34-13 rout of the New York Jets. It was Moore’s first start since January 1st, 2012.
