An unlikely hero has the Senators up 2-0 on the Rangers. Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored his fourth goal of the game in double overtime as Ottawa beat New York 6-5 to go up two games in their second-round series. Pageau scored just 12 goals in 82 regular-season games.

A big night for the New Jersey Devils. The Devils won the NHL’s Draft lottery and will get to select first at the upcoming NHL Draft. Philadelphia has the second pick while Dallas rounds out the top three. Colorado and Vancouver will pick fourth and fifth, respectively.

Curtis Dickson had a hat trick and set up three other goals to power the Calgary Roughnecks past the Saskatchewan Rush 14-7 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League play.
Dane Dobbie had a pair of goals and four assists for Calgary (8-10), while Riley Loewen and Wesley Berg had two goals apiece. Jeff Shattler, Bob Snider, Tyler Digby, Holden Cattoni and Curtis Manning added singles. Frank Scigliano made 53 saves for the win.
Adam Jones scored three times for Saskatchewan (12-6), while Ben McIntosh, Mark Matthews, Dan Taylor and Curtis Knight chipped in as well. Aaron Bold stopped 15-of-20 shots in the first half. Tyler Carlson turned aside 17-of-26 shots in relief.
The Roughnecks could not score on their one power play and the Rush went 2 for 5.

A big day for Justin Smoak. Smoak had three hits, including a two-run homer as Toronto beat Tampa Bay 4-1 at Rogers Centre. Smoak went 3 for 3 and scored twice as the Jays snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 7-and-17.

Canada nailed down its best-ever result at the world mixed doubles curling competition in Lethbridge, Alberta. Edmonton’s Joanne Courtney and Winnipeg’s Reid Carruthers finished with silver after falling in the tile draw 6-5 to Switzerland. Additionally, Canada locked up a berth in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where mixed doubles curling will make its debut as a medal sport.

Haru Nomura remains the leader through three rounds of the North Texas LPGA Shootout despite a 1-over 72. Nomura’s 8-under total puts her two strokes ahead three other golfers. Meanwhile, Lydia Ko has withdrawn from the event because of an eye infection and could lose the Number 1 ranking she has held for 79 straight weeks.
