SWIFT CURRENT WINS GAME 7 AT MOOSE JAW

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Stuart Skinner stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Swift Current Broncos shut out the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-0 on Monday in Game 7 of their Western Hockey League playoff series.

The Broncos will face the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL’s Eastern Conference final.

Glenn Gawdin scored twice for Swift Current, while Colby Sissons put away the eventual winner at the 12:45 mark of the first period. Tyler Steenbergen, Giorgio Estephan and Max Patterson also scored for the Broncos.

Brody Willms turned away 32 shots for the Warriors.

Moose Jaw’s Brandon Schuldhaus was given a match penalty for attempting to injure another player at 6:19 of the third period.

Swift Current went 1 for 2 on the power play and the Warriors were 0 for 1 with the man advantage.
