Regina – In a battle of two nationally-ranked teams, the Regina Pats (8) came out on top over the Brandon Wheat Kings (5) Saturday night. Sam Steel had a goal and two assists to pace the Pats to a 5-2 victory before 4,131 fans in the Brandt Centre.
Braydon Buziak, Jake Leschyshyn, Connor Hobbs and Filip Ahl rounded out the attack for Regina (4-0-2). Tyler Brown made 18 saves.
Ty Lewis and Tyler Coulter chipped in for the Wheat Kings (2-2-1) with Jordan Papirny turning away 30-of-34 shots.

Nice hockey fan support you stiffs in Saskatoon! 2,700 Sunday afternoon. But for who knows why, sellout lacrosse every home game. Pitiful hockey fans.
Was good to see the boys rebound after Friday loss where they sort of slept thru the initial period. Some pretty balanced scoring throughout the lineup is going to give other teams fits this year. As long as Hollett and Brown stay healthy my only conceris on defense but hopefully that will come around. Seflish penalty by Wagner Friday night hurt the Team and will no likely cost him a few games from the League office. A big weekend in sports. It's been a long time since I've had this sports content feeling. I know it's short lived but still. It's been a long time coming. Riders won, Jays won, Thunder won, Pats won. If only Jones could have had the Riders playing like this when they still had a chance at a playoff spot. As mentioned in Rods article. Riders could end up at 8-10 and possibly tie the 1st place Eastern team. Yet the Riders will be watching while the Eastern second and possibly third place teams head into the playoffs.
