THE KEG PATS RECAP: REGINA 5 KOOTENAY 4 (OT)

CRANBROOK, BC – Nick Henry scored his first career hattrick as part of a four point night to lead the Pats to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Kootenay ICE on Friday night.

Regina led 3-1 in the second but Kootenay stormed back with three unanswered to lead 4-3 in the third. Nick Henry completed his hattrick to tie the game at four and force overtime.

In the extra frame, on the powerplay, Connor Hobbs’ slap shot from the blue line won it and the Pats improved to 5-0-3-0 on the season.

The Pats outshot the ICE 57-23 in the victory.

Jordan Hollett made 19 saves for the Pats while Payton Lee had 54 for Kootenay.

What’s Next?
The Pats are in Lethbridge. Alberta on Saturday night taking on the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. It is the first meeting between the clubs since the first round of the 2016 playoffs. The Pats will return home on Tuesday for a rematch with the Hurricanes at the Brandt Centre at 7 p.m.   All games can be heard on 620 CKRM.

Helluva performance by Nick Henry. Leads WHL rookies in scoring and seems like a nice kid. Great signing by the Pats. He'll learn lots from the older players this year. Go Pats Go!
