Regina – Sam Steel set a career high with five points and the Regina Pats scored three times shorthanded in a 7-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels at the Brandt Centre on Sunday.

Steel either scored or assisted on each of the Pats first five goals in the contest. Austin Wagner made his season debut and scored the team’s seventh goal of the night while Tyler Brown picked up his first win, making 30 saves.

The victory was Regina’s third straight and pushed their record to 3-0-1-0 on the season. They return to action Friday at home to the Kootenay Ice at 7 p.m.

Not enough fans out. This 4pm start is terrible. It should be 2pm or 6pm to let people have supper first or right after. At 4pm you don't get out until 630pm to 7 pm, drive home and have a 7-730 supper. No good! Good team but a long way from MemCup calibre. For a vet #6 on D is always in trouble..

I was there. Fantastic game start time to finish. If we can get over the Brandon curse We're gonna be a force this year with or without you whiners.

Games should be at 7. Fans don't come out till February-March in Regina. That being said this year the pars should draw higher crowds I will say starting November 4500-4800 per game

to the annon saying the Pats are a long ways away from a mem cup…. puff puff give,,, puff puff give,,,, I guess you are right and all of the NHL scouts and the rest of the league and all of the hockey minds are wrong,,,,, also 4 is the best time for the players to play as they have to be at the arena by two, they like to eat 4-6 hrs before a game which allows a 10-12 meal for them which they nap after in prep for the game, this is about the players, no one cares… Read more »
