THE LATEST: DYCE TO REDBLACKS

The weekend didn’t slow down any coaching movement in the CFL. Here’s the latest:
– CKRM/Sportsnet CFL Insider Arash Madani reports the Ottawa RedBlacks have hired Bob Dyce as their Special Teams Coordinator.  Madani calls it a shrewd move as Dyce is well-versed in CIS talent as well.
– Madani also reports Jason Maas is putting the finishing touches on his contract to be head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos. Madani predicts two of Maas’s coordinators to be Mike Benevides (Defense) and Cory McDiarmid (Special Teams). Benevides was on TSN last year while McDiarmid was Special Teams ass’t in Saskatchewan.
– TSN’s Farhan Lalji reports the Ottawa RedBlacks are seeking compensation from the Eskimos for the loss of Maas.  He was Ottawa’s O.C. last year.
– And finally Arash reports Cole Hufnagel – son of the Stamps’ John – is poised to leave his post as NY Jets scout where he’s been for the last 10 years to join Calgary as the replacement for John Murphy as Ass’t GM.

Good coach who was put in a position where success would been a miracle. I will remember him fondly for not being Corey Chamblin.

I am wondering how true this news is out of Edmonton with Maas as head coach and benevites as def cor.if this is true I'm ecstatic with that pair as I know Maas really loves Edmonton and could be there a long long time he wouldn't jump ship as Jones did to join loserville I mean riderville and benevetes will have just as good as Jones the traders defence .Go Eskies Go 2015 Grey Cup champs the whiners could only dream of being the champs.

Very interesting how other teams are snapping up Rider ASS Coaches as fast as they can yet CC is still out of work and EE where very happy to let Jones move on without any effort to keep him.

Time will show that Riders got the short end and the sexy ire will disappear very soon

All the best to Dyce – always a winner and a million times better coach and especially person than Jones and Murphy. Time will show this true. Riders lost a good one.

ANON # 3. I think every coach would bolt to a new team if they got an offer like Jones did no matter " How much he loves Edmonton". Clowns like you who try to spew hate out of your pie hole make me laugh. Just because Maas loves Edmonton doesnt mean he will be a good head coach. Time will tell.

Two years ago fans were calling for Dyce's head on platter for his putrid special teams. Now all of a sudden he's this great coach who five people love? He never was or was likely to be a HC. He would have been fired even if O'day would have been GM. Just because a guy shuts his mouth and does nothing doesn't make him a class act. Two years ago we were ready to send the guy packing. They have a longevity coach not a great coach. Maas has yet to show he can be a great HC and Benevides… Read more »

Lol. I love the fact how pissed off the Eskiomos fan is, spewing his anger on a Rider blog.

Supposed to be basking in the glow of their championship and he's on here pissed off as hell. Love it!!

All of you posters spouting off about how great Jones and Murphy are and how they are the greatest coaches in the world – well you did the something when CC came to the Riders and how did that turn out,

Now you also want DD, Dressler, Bagg, Best and others released.

To say that all of you are nuts would be an understatement.
