THE NEST PATS RECAP: REGINA 6 CALGARY 5 (OT)
CALGARY – Sam Steel had four points and Austin Wagner scored the game winner as the Pats outlasted the Hitmen in Calgary on Friday night, 6-5 in overtime.
The Pats held 1-0, 4-2 and 5-3 leads in the game but the Hitmen, led by Jake Beans’ hattrick tied it up to force the extra frame.
2:05 into overtime, Adam Brooks set up Austin Wagner back door and the Calgary product made no mistake, scoring his 21st in his home town.
The Pats outshot Calgary 38-36 in the win and improved to 32-6-6-1 on the season.
Jordan Hollett made 31 saves in his second game back from injury while Trevor Martin stopped 32 pucks for the Hitmen.
