Dupont Media Inc. and Rod Pedersen are excited to announce the launch of The Rod Pedersen Show, a new age in sports talk in Canada.

The Rod Pedersen Show will air five-days-a-week from 10am-noon Sask Time across multiple platforms to reach an audience never before seen in this space. Through the power of Facebook LIVE, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and the large audience already flooding to Rod’s official website RodPedersen.com on a daily basis, The Rod Pedersen Show enters a new era of sportstalk and entertainment.

“I’m so excited to see where this show goes,” said Darren Dupont, co-host and president of Dupont Media Inc. “Rod is one of those rare talents that don’t come around very often. I’ve been pushing him to do something like this for the past year. Ever since his announcement in January, I knew we had to push hard to get him and a lot of hard work and patience has paid off.”

With a mix of compelling guests, both in the studio and around the world through video chat, the show will have the ability to reach audiences with diverse interests while exceeding the product quality and entertainment value that the listeners have been so loyal to in the past.

“I’m excited to start something that’s never been done,” Rod Pedersen stated. “For instance when I started my website in 2006, no one else in Canada was blogging on the CFL. 26-million hits later, it’s still a top entertainment source in the country. Secondly, since we began teasing this show last week, we’ve received reaction literally from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland. With Facebook LIVE, people from coast-to-coast can watch everyday, or tune into the live audio version.

“I’ve long felt Canada was missing a morning sports talk show, sort of like The View For Guys, and that’s the format we’re going for here. We’ve already got a huge lineup of guests ready to go for the first week so I’m really pumped to get going!”

Over the last 30 years, Rod Pedersen has built an award-winning career in radio and television broadcasting, including the past two decades as voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, 17 years in the WHL, and a stint as Canada’s voice for the World Juniors. He’s also a best-selling author with books on the Roughriders and SJHL.

A farm kid from Milestone, SK, Rod has become a national brand in the sports world. But he’s also been referred to “as Saskatchewan as a wheat field” and remains a staunch supporter of the 306 and its people.

The Rod Pedersen Show will bring all these facets together, and make for must-see programming on a daily basis.

For the show intro Rod should do like Michael Landsberg on OTR and have the fists up in a boxing stance. Coming atcha!

As a radio listener in my car or walking around town, will the show also be on CKRM or the Community Radio station? The town could use a top notch morning sports talk show on the radio to compete against that insufferable Gormley!

This is a trend setting idea by Rod Pedersen. Kinda of like when Howard Stern stepped away from regular radio and into Sirius XM satalite radio. Rod Pedersen is a knowledgable and thorough football guru, should be good and even greater as time goes by to build the product. Good luck Rod.

Look forward to possibly hearing from some real old-time Rider observers from Lynch and Carm.

After watching ‘In the huddle’ I’d say you should have Marshall Hamilton on every show. He sure straightened you out when you said you liked Chris Jones. There was no rebuttal!

Chris Jones will always be run down because you have recreation level athletes not having clue one what the lions den pro-football is. Let’s take a long look at Chris Jones and the in it for himself theory. Did anyone realize his high school team would have folded had he personally as a kid not recruited guys to just get out there so they could play? They won a state title – now ask what you were doing at 15-17 and i”m sure it’s the same thing at 45 – playing in a sandbox somewhere. Did anyone know Chris Jones… Read more »

We are so happy we saw you on the Huddle today, you are back broadcasting …what you do best. And we are so thrilled about your new talk show. We can’t wait to see you on it. We miss you so much. The sports cage on the radio is not the same. We don’t even listen to it anymore. Rod, we are so happy for you. Congrstulations, you are back, where you belong.

The Rod Pederson Show, Love it! This is fantastic and super exciting. Saskatchewan sports radio is worse than pathetic, so this is huge. Rod was essentially the only Saskatchewan sports show broadcaster who didn’t see the Riders through rose coloured glasses. He said things as they were and not necessarily what the “Rough Rider homers” wanted to hear. Absolutely looking forward to listening and or watching. Just wish TSN would call and have him doing CFL play by play on the big screen. He is right up there with Bob Irving in Winnipeg as the very best of CFL play… Read more »
