THE SPORTS DOCTOR’S WEEK 9 NFL PICKS

Last week I was a consistent 11-3 (71-50) and 10-4 (61-60) against the spread.

Sunday Early

Detroit Lions (3-4) at Minnesota Vikings (4-3-1)
Line: Vikings by 4.5

Vikings let last week get away from them and it won’t happen here. The Lions won’t be the same without Golden Tate anyway.

Dr. Football: Take the Vikings to win and cover.

Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) at Cleveland Browns (2-5-1)
Line: Chiefs by 8.5

One only hopes Patrick Mahomes doesn’t get injured against this bunch of wanna be bounty hunters.

Dr. Football: Take the Chiefs to win and cover.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) at Carolina Panthers (5-2)
Line: Panthers by 6.5

The Bucs can’t stop the pass, and Cam Newton is 4-0 at home. Won’t be close.

Dr. Football: Take the Panthers to win and cover.

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2-1) at Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
Line: Ravens by 3

Baltimore is a much better overall team at home, have the league’s top-rated defense, and they have already beaten the Steelers in Week 4 and have won the last four out of five times they have played them at home. They’ll head into their bye with a win.

Dr. Football: Take the Ravens to win and cover.

New York Jets (3-5) at Miami Dolphins (4-4)
Line: Dolphins by 3

In Week 2, the Miami held the Jets to 12 points in New York. Since then, the Miami defense hasn’t played as well, but they’ll still stop them at home.

Dr. Football: Take the Dolphins to win and cover.

Atlanta Falcons (3-4) at Washington Redskins (5-2)
Line: Redskins by 1.5

Like the Falcons themselves, I’ve given up; they’re not the team I thought they were. Washington isn’t either; they’re better than I ever thought they’d be. I’m drinking the Kool Aid.

Dr. Football: Take the Redskins to win and cover.

Chicago Bears (4-3) at Buffalo Bills (2-6)
Line: Bears by 10

All Chicago has to do is score is a field goal and they should have this one put away…the Bills won’t even get on the board.

Dr. Football: Take the Bears to win and cover.

Sunday Late

Houston Texans (5-3) at Denver Broncos (3-5)
Line: Broncos by 1

After losing their first three, Houston has won five in a row. Denver alwsys is a tough place to play, but they should keep rolling.

Dr. Football: Take the Texans to win and cover.

Los Angeles Chargers (5-2) at Seattle Seahawks (4-3)
Line: Seahawks by 2

The Chargers have won four in a row, five of six and are coming off their bye. Seattle has won three of their past four and the loss was a close one against the Rams. This is the game of the week.

Dr. Football: Take the Seahawks to win and cover.

Los Angeles Rams (8-0) at New Orleans Saints (6-1)
Line: Saints by 1.5

The Rams were put to the test last week against Green Bay, and will be again this week against a New Orleans team that have won their last six in a row. Rams will fall.

Dr. Football: Take the Saints to win and cover.

Sunday Night

Green Bay Packers (3-3-1) at New England Patriots (6-2)
Line: Patriots by 5.5

The Packers held their own in L.A. on Sunday and really lost the game themselves. New England looked like they were practicing new schemes in Buffalo prepping for this one. I like Green Bay’s fight, but they can’t finish.

Dr. Football: Take the Patriots to win but not cover.

Monday Night

Tennessee Titans (3-4) at Dallas Cowboys (3-4)
Line: Cowboys by 6.5

All of Dallas’ wins have been at home and the Titans have dropped three in a row. Both teams are coming off their bye and will be rested, but it won’t matter as Tennessee can’t score.

Dr. Football: Take the Cowboys to win and cover.
