THE UPDATE IS … THERE IS NO UPDATE
Willy was scheduled to be re-evaluated by medical staff Friday with what the CFL team is calling an upper-body injury.
Head coach Mike O’Shea will provide an update on Monday and Willy’s status for next Friday’s game against Montreal is unknown, the Blue Bombers said in a release.
Willy left the game with 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Ticats defensive end Adrian Tracy. Hamilton went on to win 52-26.
The 28-year-old quarterback appeared to be knocked out as medical staff looked at him. After a couple minutes on the turf, he walked off the field to the locker-room and was replaced by Brian Brohm.
Willy is the fifth quarterback to be injured in the first two weeks of the CFL season, joining Montreal’s Jonathan Crompton and Dan LeFevour, Edmonton’s Mike Reilly and Saskatchewan veteran Darian Durant on the sidelines.

This could be a story in the making for the end of the season. Week 1 Bombers looked great, Week 2 Hamilton looks great. Both can beat Calgary I'm thinking. Perhaps they are this years Grey Cup teams? Only time , refs , and injuries will tell.
Anthony Calvillo #2 Sad to see such an unnecessary head shot while in a vulnerable position. I guess the typical $750 fine will be doled out… Meanwhile the team, who had invested hundred's of thousands of dollars in contracts, training, etc, they are completely left at a loss. Reminds me of last year when the refs blew the play dead when Darian Durant was playing in Winnipeg; yet the refs refused to simply run up and try to at least wave hands or stop the defenders from hitting Durant who was already stopping; he too was left in a vulnerable… Read more »
Don't really think that it was a deliberate hit.
Accidents happen.
Look at the re-play
Football is a violent game
Stuff happens.
Another Rider fan talking like they know everything but are wrong again.
Durant openly admitted last week he never heard a whistle and has no ill feeling toward the Winnipeg player. And if you actually watch the clip he hurts his elbow because he is in the beginning motion of throwing the football.
Season/career … or may start next week. We can all make guesses.
.. "may start next week." Huh?
What the you talkin bout Willis?
You jus another fan talkin like they know everything.
Quit with the guessing.
lol
Accidents happen, and it's unfortunate that if this is more serious than first thought, the Bombers have no backup similar to Riders last year.
to Anthony Calvillo #2; Did you watch the game?
He could play next week perhaps. He was standing outside the tunnel before half time which is a good sign. Concussion protocols are a sliding scale of severity. He may be back next week or he could be out for a month…
