Thursday Commentary: Making Memories

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All Nezw Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)

I couldn’t wait to get on here today and tell you about the big Clint Black show at Moose Jaw Events Centre on Wednesday!

Honestly, it was even better than I thought it would be.

Way better.

And it was clear from the outset who the crowd was going to be; old cowboys, truckers, their wives, and plenty of my friends from the Queen City who made the drive over.

The good folks at Moose Jaw Event Centre gave me seats in the third row centre, and said to take lots of pics and post ‘em.

It’s been 35 years of Killin’ Time for Clint Black, and the Katy, Texas product played every song from that debut album in 1989 and joked, “We were just babies back then, weren’t we?” (He’s 62 now).

Actually he mixed plenty of jokes in throughout the show, although I think he was serious when he said he tried to look up how the City of Moose Jaw got its name.

He guessed that it if you ate too much chocolate mousse, it gave you Lockjaw?

Funny guy, that Clint Black.

And I’ll admit, at times, to tearing up when he tore into some his biggest hits, like Better Man, Summer’s Comin’ and Nothin’ But The Taillights.

Now I get why even older fogies lose it at the Elvis tribute shows, or why females blow the roof off even now at Backstreet Boys shows.

It reminds you of a great, great time in your life and old Clint was right there riding shotgun, providing the soundtrack.

It’s also a reminder that it’s okay to visit the past, just okay to live there.

It can be just as much fun making new memories.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary

(The Rod Pedersen Show airs daily at 12 pm & 5 pm ET on Game+TV, WQEE Radio, Podcast & YouTube Live)

Patty Loveless is all over my playlists and those 2 “dated”

Thank God for real country music.

Better Man
Killing Time

A long list – mind you being 14 yrs old and listening to that lyric “…thought I’d drink you off my mind…” I should have thought that advice over but oh well.

Seen him at craven and casino.

He’s still pure silk.

And of all the people who were not there. Those fans should be dragging their kids to these shows.

Comedians and old school country is where the truth gets told today.

George Strait, Clint Black… you have good taste in music, Rod!

I enjoy new music as much as anyone. But man, there is just something about flipping it to AM radio and getting a fix of that classic country.
