It was our last show of the week heading into the Easter weekend and we went out with a bang with Episode #975 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+ TV, WQEE Radio and streaming! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont got things going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) April 6 marks the five-year anniversary of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy. The panel gave their thoughts, 2) Thursday NHL leftovers including a massive Flames win over the Jets and a ho-hum Oilers win at Anaheim, 3) Dub playoffs including the Pats and Blades going down to a Best-of-3, 4) The Blue Jays won their second in a row, 3-0 at Kansas City, 4) In the NBA the Hawks trampled the Wizards 123-116, and the Raptors fell 97-93 at Boston, and 6) The Masters tees off and it’s Week 19 in the NLL.
  • Calgary Stampeders Quarterbacks Coach & Regina Rams alum Marc Mueller joined the Stage Bar at Grey Eagle to discuss all things gridiron. Marc went into detail on last weekend’s Stamps free agent camps in Charlotte and Atlanta (he got to see his uncle Bob Lancaster) and described how they run the camps. Mueller also discussed SFU’s decision to discontinue their football program saying it’s disappointing for many reasons, primarily because it’s a loss of 80-100 player spots. The guys also got into the outlook for the 2023 CFL West Division and what life will be like without Bo Levi Mitchell in the Stamps QB room. Regarding interviewing for the Roughriders Offensive Coordinator position this winter, Marc said it was great to go through the process but he’s very happy with his current situation in Calgary.
  • The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: What has your sports focus this weekend – Hockey, Masters, MLB or Other? At press time, hockey was leading.
  • In Hour 2 we were joined by Bet Regal NHL Ambassador Bernie Nicholls for an expansive chat. The Kings great predicted Boston and Toronto to meet in Round 2 and feels the President’s Trophy is “The kiss of death” for the Bruins! He’s also happy that his former teams in L.A., Edmonton and NY Rangers are doing so well.
  • Thursday’s Rockstar of the Day was Robin Brownlee. Thursday’s was Marc Mueller.
  • If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV, on our YouTube Channel or on all major podcast platforms.
