It was a whole lot of hockey talk on Thursday’s Episode #728 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Bruce Arians retires as head coach of the Buccaneers, with Todd Bowles taking over, 2) Wednesday NHL leftovers, 3) Vezina Trophy candidates, 4) Saskatoon & Regina are submitting a joint bid to host this winter’s World Juniors!, 5) Our CFL Power Rankings, and 6) Raptors & Blue Jays updates plus the latest from the Dub.
  • Bally Sports Nashville Predators TV host Lyndsay Rowley joined the show from Music City to discuss everything related to the Predators. Lyndsay said it’s a blast working every game with analyst Terry Crisp, and said she’ll be very emotional when Crispy calls it a career at the end of this season. She explained that the Predators are in playoff mode already, narrowly holding onto a wildcard spot. Rowley also reported that the stellar play of goalie Juuse Saros has eased any fears which were raised by the retirement of Pekka Rinne. She also told a heart-warming story about Preds rookie Tanner Jeannot of Oxbow, SK, racing home from a game in Las Vegas to witness the birth of his son.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who should win the Vezina Trophy this season as NHL Goaltender of the Year – Jacob Markstrom, Igor Shesterkin, Andrei Vasilevskiy or Sergei Bobrovsky? At press time, Shesterkin was leading.
  • In Hour 2 for Original 16 Beer we went deep into the Saskatoon/Regina bid, whom will provide competition, and memories from the 2010 World Juniors in Saskatchewan. (The green Team Canada jerseys still draw mixed reviews).
  • Bally Sports Dallas Stars TV host Brian Rea joined the show for a very deep look at the Stars. Rod mentioned that his Dad worked for the Stars for 26 years and follows the team pretty closely. He asked which is the real Stars: the team which made the Stanley Cup Final two years ago or the one who missed the playoffs last year? Rea said they’re somewhere in between. Regarding goaltender Braden Holtby, Rea said it was never a consideration that he’d join the Edmonton Oilers at the trade deadline.
  • Wednesday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Peter Loubardias. Thursday’s was Lindsay Rowley!
  • See you Friday at 12 pm ET on Game+ TV Network, YouTube Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive.
