TICATS ADD GRIGSBY

HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed international running back Nic Grigsby, the team announced today.

Grigsby, a 5-11, 195-pound native of Los Angeles, California, started 14 games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this year, rushing for 744 yards and eight touchdowns on 162 carries while catching 55 passes for 444 receiving yards and a score. He was released by the Blue Bombers on October 15.

The University of Arizona product has also spent time with the BC Lions, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sounds like if a player is cut, the trade deadline does not apply and he can be picked up.

Surprised the Riders did not sign him.

Told there was a rule that a player released from a team and signed after the trade deadline can’t play in the playoffs.

Can anyone confirm that?

I have contacted CFL Head-Office a few days ago with the question of cuts being signed after the trade deadline; as of yet no response. Curious as to if anyone was going to sign Troy Smith at the time.

If you will recall, Winnipeg gave Grigsby his release ONE DAY before the cut-off. So he can play. Many pundits scratched their heads as to why Winnipeg did not wait a day to do the release, but it worked in Hamilton's favour.

Riders could get him to throw those yellow footballs into the stands. It really would be random to where the ball may land

I have a question on the rules for kicking field goals. I'm wondering if there is any other situation where kicking through the uprights other than in a F/G placement would count as three points. Specifically I'm thinking about the sometimes frantic 'kick-it-in, kick-it-out' scenario that happens when a single point is needed.
