TICATS RE-SIGN O’NEILL

HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed national offensive lineman Tim O’Neill to a new contract that will keep him in Black and Gold through the 2016 season.

“Tim is a valuable member of our football team and an important part of our offensive line,” said Ticats General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin. “His strong presence on the field and character in the locker room has helped our team be successful over the last two seasons.”

O’Neill, a 6-3, 305-pound, native of Victoria, British Columbia, enters his ninth CFL season and fourth with the Ticats. Since signing with the Ticats in February 2012, he has appeared in all 54 regular season games, starting in 44 of those games.

“The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a great organization, which made the decision to re-sign easy,” said O’Neill. “I could not be happier to be back at Tim Hortons Field with the greatest fans in the CFL.”

The Ticats Most Outstanding Lineman in 2012 was slated to become a free agent next month.

The ticats could in reality take a step back next year, which is scary for a 9-9 team. They will lose a lot of weapons like Banks, Ellingson, Giguere, and possibly Tasker. You know Fantuz and Gable are only good for a dozen games because of injuries.

What makes me chuckle, is that the Riders and the fans have these bozos all worked up enough and worried that all they can do is troll the rider bogs etc and sling garbage. What a pathetic bunch of losers.
It doesn't much matter matter if you are 4th place or last. winning the grey cup is all that counts and Hamilton hasnt done that. Oh did I mention the Riders did in 2013.

Go Riders!

HTC have proven a fast rising successful football program with their current management/staff/ownership direction, notwithstanding the hurdle of a championship title just yet. HTC organizational product on and off the field of play a fine exemplary example of high level professional sports franchise structure that other CFL clubs should strive to emulate.

(Are you listening Saskatchewan?) Quit worrying about the merchandise sales and focus on the task at hand, winning championships. 4 ????

Yes Hamilton a model franchise. Had to have Braley then Young bail them out or would of folded, grear fan support there. Do you realize you have the worst record of any team since your last cup in 1999. How many coaches? A 1 and 17 season. So a fast rising sussessful football program 15 years in the making. Lol. 9 and 9 last year the Riders in a down year got 10 wins. Only made the stadium 25000 seats. Will they have a whole season of sellouts I doubt it.

Who's Braley? In just two years under Kent Austin's 'direction", fast and rising Immediate results for Hamilton Tiger Cats and their current ownership speak volumes to "high level standard of professional football direction" as evident by the Tiger Cats team vying for two Grey Cup titles but falling short of victory, (robbed in 2014 by CFL refereeing), that's okay, their now pointed In the right direction. A lot of the Saskatchewan fanbase seem to have a hate or jealousy directed for the man who walked away from them twice to pursue other opportunity, but Mr. Austin on behalf of the… Read more »

How is Braley? You know David Braley owner of BC and Argos, he owned the cats the Cats at one time. Are you really that clueless? If you gonna into a pissing match with Rider fans you better a little more prepared buddy and know a little about your history whats going on and not rely on your man crush on Kent. The 2007 Grey cup team is pretty much Roys Shivers team as they were all his players. Now back to mommys basement and dont forget to do your chores before she gets home from work.
