MEDICINE HAT, Alta. – Tommy Vannelli scored the only goal in the shootout as the Tigers got by Regina 4-3 Sunday evening at The Arena.

Miles Koules, Cole Sanford and Trevor Cox had a goal each for Medicine Hat (20-10-3) in regulation.

Boston Leier, Dane Schioler and Austin Wagner replied for the Pats (18-13-3).

Tigers goalie Daniel Wapple finished with 26 saves, while Nick Schneider stopped 39 for Regina.

The Pats visit the Calgary Hitmen Tuesday at 8:00 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 7:35 pm).

The guys played a real gritty game to get a point. They are missing a plethora of players and add Dyson Stevenson to that mix last night. It wasn't a great game to watch but everyone hunkered down and found a way. The Pats could have won but leading 2-1 they got two minors at the same time. One for hooking and one for unsportsmanlike conduct. Chandler Stephenson has to know that no matter how crappy the officiating is or what the situation is, you have to keep your yap shut.
