TOUCHDOWN ATLANTIC FESTIVITIES ARE UNDERWAY!

We are in Moncton, New Brunswick for Touchdown Atlantic 2019! The Montreal Alouettes will oppose the Toronto Argonauts on Sunday at 10 am MT at University of Moncton Stadium.

The weekend kicked off with the CFL Alumni Association Golf Classic at Royal Oaks Golf Club on Friday, benefitting Football New Brunswick and the CFLAA Support Fund.

CFL Alumni on hand included Commissioner Randy Ambrosie (Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton), Damon Allen (Edmonton, Ottawa, Hamilton, Memphis, BC, Toronto), Miles Gorrell (Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton, Winnipeg), Jeff Fairholm (Saskatchewan, Toronto), Eugene Beliveau (Montreal, Calgary), Stew Fraser (Saskatchewan, Ottawa) Darren Burns (Hamilton, Ottawa, Montreal) and Mike Washburn (BC, Montreal).

The golf classic boasted a full field of golfers, and featured a Hot Stove with Ambrosie, Allen, Gorrell and yours truly as the moderator. We talked about the importance of CFL expansion into the Atlantic region, the big stories so far in the 2019 season and much more. Regarding the high amount of return TDs this year, Ambrosie chalked it up to better coaching.

Mike Humes represented the Atlantic Schooners and addressed the crowd, outlining their plans for getting the CFL’s 10th franchise off the ground.

Also on hand for the supper were New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs and Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold.

The Alouettes and Argos will arrive in Moncton on Saturday, and get ready for Sunday’s game which will close Week 11 in the CFL.
