TUESDAY COMMENTARY: ALL ABOARD!
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98, Rock 98.5 FM & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and you know what that means; it’s time for another edition of the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: I didn’t have to look too far to find examples of all of them. It’s real good that Rider fans are snatching up tickets to this Saturday’s game at Calgary and staying at our host hotel; the Hotel Clique Calgary Airport.
They’re even asking if the hotel runs a shuttle to McMahon Stadium for the game! The answer is yes … the Pedersen Express.
Why the heck not? I’ve got nothing else to do. All aboard!
Next the great: It’s absolutely great that the Regina Pats are hosting an NHL Draft Party at Western Pizza at the end of the month.
It’s something that I begged the team to do a few regimes ago but they didn’t seem too interested. So whomever’s idea it was to bring the fans together now and watch Connor Bedard go #1 to Chicago – bravo!
It’s never a bad idea to enjoy pizza and watch hockey.
And lastly the ugly: Just an observation, but my gosh there’s a whole lot of anger and rage out there at the moment.
To be honest I’m not really sure why it’s happening but I’m seeing a whole lot of vitriol from my friends on social media just talking about the bigotry and hate they’re seeing.
But then they don’t say what it’s about! It’s Pride Month so I’m sure there’s plenty of blowback on that. I’ve seen videos of fights erupting at fairs, in public places and even family gatherings.
Folks, that’s really ugly.
However I haven’t seen any myself, in-person, so I’m grateful for that.
Remember those advisors of mine in Florida I used to talk about so regularly on here? I still have them, and they said to cut any and all negativity out of my life pronto.
You wouldn’t believe how great that works!
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary
(The Rod Pedersen Show airs daily at 12 pm ET on Game+ TV, WQEE, Podcast & YouTube Live)
Rod it is really incredible to watch your journey and take inspiration. I recently finished the audio book East of Eden. I had read it but it’s a tomb. The generations that pass and at the end when Caleb in order to move forward begs for a blessing his dying father says “timshel”. It means “thou mayest”. It means we have choice and free will. The hate/viterol has always been there. Always. Only online these people are now in communities. Why do they hate? Simple. They hate themselves and that inner resentment and hatred needs a target to be pointed… Read more »
Thanks Obama! You have found the key!
Sorry Riderville, but look 4 the Elks of Edmonton to start making their move up the CFL West Division standings. The Elks will move up the pac to sit comfortably ahead in 2nd place behind the Powerhouse Winnipeg Blue Bombers by the 6 game mark of the season, sorry 4 the inconvenience of setting things straight, but the fanbase of Riderville shouldn’t be so gullible to believe the riders have any chance of competing 4 a GC anytime soon, not happening. “In Jones We Trust” Go Elks Go!
Ms Debbie Downer – I sure hope this is a joke because it is so far from reality that it is funny. The Elks will be in the basement of the western division and will probably again only win maybe 3 games all year. Jones can run a defence but has no idea what a quarter back should look like or how he should perform his job. To Chris Jones a quarterback is a refund not the most important player on your team.
