It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly! …

First the good: The Blue Jays season has been good, but not much more. Forget last night’s 11-4 bombing by the Houston Astros, one of the best teams in baseball.

That loss snapped a four game Jays win streak, and they’d won six of seven. Check the standings today and you’ll find Toronto is three games out of a wildcard spot.

I learned on Monday from Jays podcaster Craig Ballard that the Jays’ first half schedule has been murderous compared to what they’ll experience after the All Star break.

Cool! For now, I just enjoy watching Blue Jays baseball and they’re always entertaining.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s good.

Next the great: It’s Week 1 of the CFL season. Need I say more?

The Riders are the only road team favoured in Week 1, by 2.5-points at Edmonton on Sunday by our official betting partner Bet Regal.

It is undoubtedly, the game of the week. CFL football is back, and that’s great.

And lastly, the ugly: From a Florida Panthers perspective, it’s the Stanley Cup Final. However not so much from a Vegas perspective – my second favourite team!

But this NHL championship has been an enormous letdown in a lot of ways. The Golden Knights are up 2-0 in the series coming back to South Florida and outscored the Panthers 12-4. I don’t even need to look up the hits; I can see for myself. Florida isn’t even in this series and have completely lost their composure. If you want close games, this series isn’t for you.

Will it turn once the series resumes Thursday with Game 3 at FLA Live Arena? Anything’s possible. But after Game 1, Panthers people told me Vegas is the best team they’ve faced in these playoffs.

And if the best team ends up winning the Stanley Cup, there’s nothing ugly about that at all.
