TUESDAY COMMENTARY – NOT OUR FIRST RODEO
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 & Rock 98.5 FM)
It’s Tuesday and that can only mean another edition of The Good, The Great & The Ugly!
First, the good: It’s the young stars in the NHL which have created unbelievable parity. If you’re not on your A-game every night, you’re gonna lose.
Exhibit A is the Buffalo Sabres and Tage Thompson. The 6’7 forward from Phoenix, Arizona is one of the biggest rages in the NHL this year.
It’s taken Tage six seasons to become an overnight success but he’s averaging nearly a goal-a-game this year, including in Buffalo’s 3-2 win at Vegas last night.
If you’re not selling wins, you’d better be selling hope and excitement and the Sabres are doing just that.
Next, the great: Today’s the day – we’ll be broadcasting the RP Show live from the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton bowl beginning at Noon ET on Game+ TV, YouTube and WQEE Radio.
It’s not my first bowl game; I’ve caught the Fiesta Bowl and National Championship, both in Glendale, but this is our first broadcast.
The highlight for me will be having Liberty broadcaster and former Roughriders receiver from the 1990s Joey Jauch on the show live.
For some reason I got that quiver in my gut of nerves which actually is a good thing.
Trying something new tends to do that!
And lastly, the ugly: For that we go back to the NHL.
The standings are ugly for teams who just can’t seem to figure it out as we approach the Christmas break.
I know this is a stretch, and that’s just because I’m dearly trying to keep things positive.
But those pesky Seattle Kraken are making life miserable for teams who should be comfortably in playoff spots by now.
I’ve personally seen the Kraken come back to embarrass the Flames and then suffocate the Panthers.
Didn’t somebody tell the expansion franchise that they’re supposed to suck?
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary

Roddy, do you have your NHL All-Star Game credentials yet? Will the RP Show be live at the media event?
