TUESDAY COMMENTARY – THE SEDINS?
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 & Rock 98.5 FM)
IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER EDITION OF THE GOOD, THE GREAT, AND THE UGLY!
FIRST, THE GOOD: IT HAS TO BE THE TEMPERATURE HERE IN SUNNY SOUTH FLORIDA WHERE IT’LL REACH AROUND 28-DEGREES CELSIUS TODAY AS WE BROADCAST THE ROD PEDERSEN SHOW DAILY ON GAME+ TV AND YOUTUBE.
THE FLORIDA PANTHERS ARE THE #1 TEAM IN THE NHL AND THE NFL’S MIAMI DOLPHINS HAVE WON SIX IN A ROW.
GOOD TIMES IN THE SUNSHINE STATE.
NEXT, THE GREAT: THIS WEEK IT’S CFL DIVISION FINAL WEEKEND. THE CROWDS IN TORONTO AND WINNIPEG LOOKED GREAT AND THE GAMES FEATURED A TON OF DRAMA!
AFTER BEING SHUTOUT IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE EAST FINAL, THE TICATS FLIPPED THE SCRIPT OVER THE FINAL 30 MINUTES AND UPSET THE ARGONAUTS TO ADVANCE TO THE GREY CUP IN THEIR OWN STADIUM THIS SUNDAY.
OUT WEST OF COURSE, THE RIDERS TOOK THE BOMBERS TO THE FINAL MINUTE BUT COULDN’T QUITE GET IT DONE. STILL, BOTH WERE NAILBITERS TO THE FINISH.
AND FINALLY, THE UGLY: THAT HAS TO BE THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS.
EVEN THE EXPANSION SEATTLE KRAKEN HAVE A HIGHER WINNING PERCENTAGE THAN VANCOUVER, AND THAT LED THE CANUCKS TO BE THE SECOND TEAM TO FIRE THEIR HEAD COACH WHEN THEY TURFED TRAVIS GREEN SUNDAY NIGHT. (CHICAGO WAS THE FIRST WITH JEREMY COLLITON).
WE SAW VANCOUVER PLAY ON OPENING NIGHT IN EDMONTON AND FRANKLY IT WAS TOUGH TO DETERMINE HOW TALENTED THEY ARE BECAUSE THEY JUST PLAYED SO BAD.
THE NAMES ARE BIG, BUT THEY HAVEN’T PLAYED BIG. AND AS THEY SAY, YOU CAN’T FIRE 20 PLAYERS BUT YOU CAN FIRE ONE COACH. METHINKS TRAVIS WON’T BE OUT OF WORK LONG.
THE MOST TROUBLING REPORT I’VE SEEN SAYS THE SEDIN TWINS – DANIEL AND HENRIK – WILL HAVE A HAND IN HIRING THE NEXT GM.
I HONESTLY HAVE TO ASK – WHAT DO THE SEDINS KNOW ABOUT WINNING?
THAT’S TODAY’S ROD PEDERSEN COMMENTARY
