Tuesday RP Show Rundown

It was Episode #1306 of The RP Show on Tuesday and here’s what went down:

  • The Sports Doctor joined the show to kick things off with Rod and they discussed Canada’s run of success in Week 1 of the Olympics, Nathan Rourke’s pro football future (he’s working out in Atlanta on Wednesday) and the 2-6 Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Doc says things just “aren’t clicking” with The Blue.
  • New Regina Pats Assistant GM Dale Derkatch joined the show to discuss his hiring by the WHL team on Monday, as well as the addition of Assistant Coach Ryan Smith. The franchise’s all-time leading scorer says it’s his fourth stint with the club and discussed what his role will be.
  • The poll question was: “Will Nathan Rourke return to the CFL?” 65% of respondents said yes.
  • The bulk of Hour 2 was dedicated to Tre Ford being named starter for the Edmonton Elks in Week 9 at Sask and the topic was also thrown out of: How much could Nathan Rourke fetch from a CFL team, and who would pay it?
  • Western Canadian Baseball League President Kevin Kvame joined the show from Lethbridge to discuss the league’s record-breaking attendance figures, preview the playoffs, and said the cities of Brandon, Lloyminster, Airdrie and Grande Prairie have expressed interest in acquiring expansion franchises!
